Growing Like a Weed

Little Tyanna is not so little anymore! She is growing incredibly fast! Today she's 9 weeks, and a much bigger pup than the 8 week old I received her as. She doesn't start puppy class until July 13th, so for now, we are just working on the basics, and I am trying to get her used to her gentle leader. She's currently under my chair just looking around...such a good girl.

Quick Pupdate

Things are going very well for my littly Ty. She's already grown! Her hurry is starting to get good...when I tell her to 'hurry' she starts sniffing around! My neighbors must think I'm crazy....Good Hurry! Good Hurry! I took some photos of her today, here are two of my favorites. Sleepy head, and destined to be something great.

Introducing...Tyanna!

Tyanna has been home now for a few days, and she is SUCH a sweetie. Love this girl. She's working on Sit and Leave It...picking them up pretty quickly. I don't have much time to write a lot, so here's a picture of her during her first bath!

not much to say...

There havn't been many updates...

I know that the puppy I will be raising will most likely be a yellow female. Some more litters are being turned in, so she may not be in the picture from the previous post. I should be hearing more info on the 15th or 16th. Suzanne called and said that I will be getting free dog food becuase they are testing out a new kind.

11 Days!

I will be recieving my first CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) puppy in 11 days! Although this is my second time raising, it will be my first time with CCI. I was interviewed and accepted yesterday, and to my (extreme) delight, I was told there were puppies ready to go home next week!

This blog is going to follow the journey of being a puppy raiser (PR), from pick up to turn in, and hopefully, graduation!

CCI trains dogs for the disabled (except blindness), and it is the PR's job to take an 8 week old puppy, and turn it into a well behaved, socialized dog, ready for advanced training. The pup stays with the PR for a little over a year. Go to www.cci.org for more info!

I know I will be recieving a female from the "T" litter (I'm not sure of the parents yet). She is a Lab/Golden cross. Her name is either Tambia or Tyanna. I have talked to their Breeder/Caretaker (BC), who whelps and cares for the pups until they reach 8 weeks. She said that this is the best litter she has had yet...so I'm very excited! I've posted a picture of the only two girls from the litter below. Not sure which is which, but one of them is mine!

Yes, I know I am getting a girl, and these are not the most "girlish" colors, but I thought I would use CCI's colors, and represent!
