I'm Back!

Alright, I have realized that it is way past time for an update! This past week has been crazy, my best friend just left for college (she's a year older than me), so I've been trying to spend as much time with her. I've also been very busy getting ready for...dun dun dun....SCHOOL. yuck.

Anyways, Ty has been doing very good. She had a puppy playdate with my friend's chocolate lab puppy who is 1 month younger than Ty. They have a pool, so we let the pups have some water time. It mostly consited of 30 secs. in the pool, then 5 minutes running around in the yard with eachother. The picture is upside down because we were using an underwater camera, and the man at walgreens put them on the cd upside down...and for some reason, when I rotate it and save it in my computer, it doesn't show up that way when I go to upload it...

Tyanna also went to the boathouse with me. I'm on my school's crew team, and we were running a camp this week teaching the parents how to row. The first day we weren't going out on the water, so I decided to bring Ty. We practiced her commands while weaving inbetween loud machines. She did excellent, and kept her focus on me....as well as all four paws on the ground.

Tyanna's "drop" "leave it" and "no" are absolutely PHENOMINAL! No matter what she has in her mouth, be it a cicada (her FAVORITE bug to eat), a water bottle top she found at the park, one strand of grass...no matter WHAT the object is, she will drop it. It was funny because she was picking up some flower petals and I told her to "drop it", but they were stuck on her tongue, and she couldn't get them out...but she was trying!

She is now 26 pounds (and is 4 months old). This means that she will be around 51lb as an adult....a little labby!

Nice To Meet You

CCI puppies have to learn to shake as part of their 30 commands they must master by the time of turn-in. Well...Tyanna is not picking up on shake too quickly. Does anyone have any tips??

PS - She's feeling 100% better!

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Ty has been one tired pup since she's been home. The vet said that she has undergone stress from being at the puppy sitters, causing diarrhea. I guess it's really common. She put her on some pills that will "rebuild the intestinal track". She's alreay 95% back to herself, I think she just needed an entire day to sleep and re-adjust!

Well....since she was so sleepy, I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures!

I will be taking her to PetsMart later today. We are going to pick up a FURMINATOR (yay!) and a leather leash, which I think she is ready for. She's really good with 'no' and 'leave it' now, so if she does chew on it, it will be managable. Tomorrow she is going to go up to school with me to watch a little bit of the volleyball and field hockey try outs. This shall be bitter sweet for me because I gave up playing vball this year to raise her. But she's 100% worth it, and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Although...the team is kind sad...

I'll try to get some pictures!

...and still running.

After two nice meals of rice and a litle puppy kibble, Ty still has got some nasty diarrhea. Luckily, the vet appt. is at 9am tomorrow, so we should hopefully have some answers first thing in the morning. I know diarrhea is not a big deal (in most cases) but she just seems so lethargic, and that worries me. I'm really hoping for some good news tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your suggestions in the comments!! They are really helpful!

Since the pup isn't feeling too hot, I have decided to camp out in the kitchen with her tonight incase she has got to go in the middle of the night. I set three alarms as well to check up on her: 3 am, 5 am, and we will have breakfest at 6:30 am (in order to hopefully be clear for the vet).

I really hope this passes because she has puppy class on wed. and if she can't go this week, that means we have missed 3 in a row...and that is NOT good.

Anyways, wish us luck!

The Runs

Well, I am home from vacation and picked up the pup from her puppy sitter this morning....AND she has horrible diarrhea. She got some yummy rice in her lunch, so we will see if that helps. She has been sleeping for an hour and a half now, and has not been outside since her first mess. Luckily, it was not in the house, but was in the neighbor's yard...

Does anyone have any tips for this kind of situation? Her first few adult teeth are also coming in, which she is not happy about. Between the diarrhea and the teeth, she's not feeling so well. I'm going to try to keep putting some water in her so she doesn't get dehydrated. Poor baby. When she is feeling more up to the weather, I will try to post some pictures.

She has her 4 week shots tomorrow, so we will see what the vet says about all of this. Hopefully she just ate something that did not agree. But then again, after playing with 3 other dogs for a solid 2 weeks, she may just be completely exhausted. We'll see, and I'll keep you posted on her progress!

Boredom

Alright, So as you can already tell, I changed the template. I was getting a little yellowed-out by the last one. So this time I decided to go blue, with yellow accents...still CCI colors....we'll see how long this lasts!!

This is what time away from the pup does to you...
